What is Focus Status in iMessage on iPhone?

What is Focus Status in iMessage on iPhone? If you’re unfamiliar with Focus Status, it’s a feature that lets you manage your notifications and messages in iMessage on your iPhone. In this article, we’ll show you how to set up and use Focus Status, as well as some of the other features that are available in iMessage.

What is Focus Mode?

If you’re someone who relies heavily on your iPhone’s Messages app, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with focus status. This nifty feature allows you to manage your messages and conversations in one place, without having to switch between different apps. Here’s a breakdown of what focus status is, and how to use it.

What is Focus Status?

When you first get an iPhone, the default setting is that everything in your iPhone is in “phoneless” mode. This means that all of your messages, contacts, and calendar are shown as a list with no indication of who or what is currently being talked about. To get things back to normal, you need to press and hold on to any message until it pops up with a small “i” in the upper-right corner. Once you have selected the message, you can release the button and everything will change back to how it was before.

If you want to keep things in “phoneless” mode but still be able to take notes or make phone calls, then you need to enable focus status for that particular message. To do this, just press and hold on to the message until it pops up with a small “f” in the upper-right corner. Now release the button and everything will change back to normal.

How to Turn Off Focus Status

If you’re someone who spends a lot of time in iMessage on your iPhone, you may want to turn off Focus Status. Focus Status is a feature that allows people in a conversation to see which messages are most important to the other participants. It’s convenient for keeping track of who’s talking, but it can also be distracting if you’re not interested in certain messages.

To disable Focus Status, open the Messages app on your iPhone and click on the blue arrow in the bottom right corner of the main screen. This will reveal a list of all the conversations in your account. Select the one you want to change settings for, and then scroll down until you see the “Focus Status” section.

To disable Focus Status, just uncheck the “Enable Focus Status” box. You can always reactivate Focus Status if you need it later, by checking the box and clicking on “Enable.”
